United Way of Cayuga County kicks off personal care drive Friday as part of Day of Caring

As part of United Way of Cayuga County’s annual Day of Caring, a personal care drive gets underway Friday.

United Way Marketing and Campaign Coordinator Julisa Stone tells us the items collected will help fulfill basic needs of a lot of county residents.

Personal care drive runs through August 4

The drive is a partnership with the Food Providers Network. The items are distributed to Cayuga County food pantries. There are dropoff locations throughout the county. The drive will continue until August 4, wrapping up with a final drive-through event at the Throop Fire Department.

Then on August 4, volunteers will fan out to as many as 20 locations to perform community service projects for non-profit agencies. United Way is still looking for projects and volunteers to do them.
