The maximum rebate per child is $250 and the maximum number of children that can be claimed is 3.
There are certain income requirements parents must meet before they can qualify for a payment.
Single or married filing separately parents cannot have an income exceeding $100,000.
Head of household filers cannot exceed $160,000 per year.

Families that may qualify are being sent post cards, and around 300,000 were sent in May.
If your income exceeds the limit, you may still qualify but at a reduced rate.
