The Penfield Central School District has moved in a new direction amid threats at schools locally- and across the U.S.
According to district officials, easy-to-use emergency alert buttons have been installed.
News10NBC reports that families in the district received a letter updating them on safety measures being taken amid heightened concerns at schools across the country.
Earlier this week there was a threat in the district- with graffiti found on a bathroom wall. No credible threat was found by law enforcement.
Staff members will be able to initiate the emergency alert system right from their phones.
