Investigators with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office say the student who prompted a lockdown at the Gananda Middle School last week has been charged with falsely reporting an incident.
The 8th grader is accused of making a false claim about a person with a gun inside the school.
The student wasn’t identified, but was taken into custody at the start of the school day.
The first half of the day on Monday, which was the first day back since the incident on Friday, was spent providing support and counseling to students and faculty.
