Friends of the Three Bears was recently awarded an almost $4,000 Finger Lakes Community Art Grant (FLCAG).
The money will be used to fund community arts and history events. FLCAG funding is sourced from the Statewide Community Regrants program of the New York State Council on the Arts through the Auburn Public Theatre.

Upcoming events
The Friends recently hosted its first artist showings and receptions of the season, featuring Gracie Ferguson and Sophie Wesselhoff. Several more artist events are in the works, according to a release from the non-profit.
Friday concerts on the lawn are set to begin on June 17, featuring a performance by the South Seneca Band and Chorus at 4p.m. during the Ovid Farmers’ Market and Strawberry Festival.
According to the Friends, the FLCAG will also help fund the following events:
- Local history talk on “Women of the Revolution: The Letters of Esther Dey”- June 18 at 4 p.m.
- Plein Air Painting with Beverly Lombardo- June 16-July 21
- Flower Drawing- July 26
- Stamp Carving- July 28
- Photography of Willard Class Series- August 8-19
At the latter event, participants will capture images of important buildings on the Willard campus.

Guided tours of the historic courthouse complex in Ovid are available Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pre-registration is accepted but not required.
