Ovid non-profit Friends of Three Bears is looking to hire its first ever paid staffer after operating since 2002 on a strictly volunteer basis.
The group manages the Three Bears courthouse complex on Main Street in Ovid via a contract with Seneca County, which owns the three-building courthouse complex. The buildings are affectionately known as Paper Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear, according to Finger Lakes Times.
The Friends group is seeking a part-time operations manager to work 24 hours per week. The pay range is $19-22 per hour, with $35,000 allocated to the new position in the 2022 county Board of Supervisors budget. The group had previously requested $50,000 to hire a full-time manager, but that request was turned down.
Interested candidates can find a full job description on the Friends of Three Bears website. Applications will be accepted until April 15, or until a candidate is hired. You can also email [email protected] or call (315) 539-1614 for more information.
