According to an article by the FSIS Smithfield Packaged Meats Corps is having a recall on their ready-to-eat bacon toppings.
These bacon products may be contaminated with foreign matter such as metal.
The product names and their lot codes are listed below
- Golden Crisp PATRICK CUDAHY FULLY COOKED BACON TOPPING APPLEWOOD SMOKED – 2053 and 2062
- Golden Crisp PATRICK CUDAHY PRECOOKED BACON TOPPING – 2054, 2062 and 2063
- MEMBER’S MARK FULLY COOKED BACON CRUMBLES
- Smithfield FULLY COOKED BACON TOPPING – 2064
185,610 pounds of product are affected by this recall.
So far there have been no reported cases of injuries due to these products.
It is possible that these products are already in consumers’ fridges.
If you have purchased these products do not consume them, they should either be thrown away or returned.
