Stimulus: Millions may see $2,000 stimulus checks with this proposal

Millions of Pennsylvania state residents could benefit from a $2,000 stimulus check if a plan to spend COVID funds is approved.

stimulus check with cash

Governor Tom Wolf wants to use the rest of the COVID relief funds sent from the federal government for stimulus checks.

The $500 million would come out of the $2.2 billion left from COVID relief funds to help offset rising inflation and gas prices.

Eligibility for the possible stimulus check

Households would need to make under $80,000 to qualify for the payment.

The plan is to help families facing severe economic hardship.

The funds must be spent by the end of 2024. If not, the remaining funds must go back to the federal government.
