RIT falls to Sacred Heart in Game 2 of Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals

The RIT men’s hockey team fell to Sacred Heart, 3-1, in Game 2 of the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals on Saturday night at Gene Polisseni Center.

The best-of-three series is now even at a game apiece.

Tommy Scarfone stopped 23-of-26 shots for the Tigers. Justin Robbins made 17 saves to earn the win for Sacred Heart.

RIT finished 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.


Gianfranco Cassaro scored the lone goal for the Tigers.

Dante Palecco, Adam Tisdale and Braeden Tuck tallied for Sacred Heart.

RIT will host Sacred Heart on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. in the deciding game of the best-of-three series. The winner advances to the Atlantic Hockey Tournament Semifinals next Friday to play sixth-seeded Air Force at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, N.Y.
