Susan Henking will join Wells College this summer as the new vice president of academic and student affairs.
The private college is located in the Village of Aurora in Cayuga County and serves about 450 students. Henking will join the college’s administrative staff starting July 1, 2022, according to The Citizen.
Henking previously taught in the department of religious studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges for 25 years. She is the co-founder of Hobart and William Smith’s LGBT studies program and was its chair for over ten years.
“Dr. Henking’s leadership style and career path make her an exemplary choice for Wells College,” said Wells College President Jonathan Gibralter in a press release. “As a seasoned faculty member who has held a wide variety of leadership roles, she is well prepared to meet the specific needs of our College and its entire community.”
