The Buffalo Sabres two-game win streak came to an end on Thursday night as they fell, 3-1, to the Ottawa Senators at KeyBank Center.
The difference in this one was special teams. The Sabres had six power play opportunities and converted just once.
Kyle Okposo scored the only goal for Buffalo.
Craig Anderson stopped 25-of-27 shots in the loss to his former team.
Zach Sanford, Austin Watson and Brady Tkachuk scored for the Senators.
Anton Forsberg turned aside 23-of-24 shots to earn the victory.
Buffalo’s penalty kill was 2-for-2.
The Sabres are back in action Saturday afternoon when they host the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drop is scheduled for 1 p.m.
