The Seneca County Board of Supervisors has voted to oppose a state Senate bill that would change Western Region Off-Track Betting Corporation’s (OTB) board of directors.
The unanimous vote came after Rich Ricci, the county’s representative to the OTB board, called on the Seneca County board to oppose the bill, according to Finger Lakes Times.
The bill would change the makeup of the OTB board to include three members to represent Monroe, Wyoming, and Orleans counties; one member to represent the counties of Chautauqua, Cayuga, Genesee, Livingston, Schuyler, and Seneca; one member for Niagara County; one member for the counties of Oswego, Cattaraugus, and Wayne; one member each for the cities of Rochester and Buffalo; one member appointed by the governor; one appointed by the State Senate President; and one appointed by the State Assembly Speaker.
