Bath woman charged with manslaughter after 3-week-old infant dies

Police arrested a Bath woman on manslaughter charges after a child died at a home on February 3.

According to a news release, Cherokee-Cheyenne Shull, 22, of Bath was charged with second-degree manslaughter.

The Class C felony charge stems from an incident where troopers responded to her home in Bath on February 3 for the report of a medical emergency involving an infant.

Upon arrival, troopers and AMR ambulance personnel found a deceased child.

Shull was identified as the infant’s mother, according to the news release. Investigators say the child was just three-weeks-old.

The Steuben County District Attorney’s Office and Steuben County Child Protective Services assisted with the investigation.

Shull was processed and remanded to the Steuben County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
