The first of two special food distributions in Geneva is scheduled for Thursday.
The Finger Lakes Times reports the food giveaways are a partnership between the Geneva Boy and Girls Clubs, Foodlink, the Salvation Army and the Center of Concern. The distributions will take place on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Community Center at 160 Carter Rd., beginning at noon and going as long as supplies last. In the past, that has typically been around 2PM. The packages will include meat, fresh vegetable, dairy, and canned goods.
There is no income requirement. Boys and Girls Clubs Executive Director Chris Lavin encourages residents to pick up food for family or neighbors who can’t make it in person. “This is healthy, fresh food that can instantly add to the quality of nutrition and significantly relieve budget pressures on families” said Lavin.
