A bacon vending machine? What a country!
Saratoga Living reports Oscar’s Smokehouse in Warrensburg has installed a new refrigerated vending machine that serves up bacon, cheese smoked pork chops and more, any time of day or night. The prices are the same as inside the store, meaning the machine presents a contact-less pickup option during the COVID-19 pandemic. General manager Jerald “Joq” Quintal says he got the idea when the state approached him about selling his products in a vending machine at the state Welcome Center on Interstate 87.
A similar machine was installed outside McCann’s Local Meats in Rochester in June. The first ever bacon vending machine was reportedly installed to help students get through final exams at Ohio State University in 2018.
