These are the best times to go to the grocery store to shop for Christmas dinner

It’s just one day before Christmas Eve, and if you have not finished your Christmas shopping, it’s a good idea to get it done.

Many stores announced they’ll be closing early on Christmas Eve this year.

A large amount of stores plan to close by the evening of Christmas Eve, including Walmart and Target.

If you use Instacart, it may be available on Christmas Eve in some locations depending on driver availability and store hours.

Places like Rite Aid and Walgreens, drug stores, are usually open on holidays but it’s best to still check beforehand.

This means if you find you’re missing something the day of Christmas, you may be lucky enough to find it at a drug store.

  • Aldi: Open until 4 p.m.
  • BJ’s: Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Costco: Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Harris Teeter: Open until 7 p.m.
  • Kroger: Call for hours
  • Lidl: Open until 8 p.m.
  • Meijer: Open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Publix: Open until 7 p.m.
  • ShopRite: Call for hours
  • Stop & Shop: Open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Target: Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Trader Joe’s: Open until 5 p.m.
  • Walmart: Open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wegmans: Open until 6 p.m.
  • Winn-Dixie: Open until 9 p.m.

To be safe, be sure to double check with your local grocery store before heading there on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

This may change on Christmas Eve, meaning during a usually slow morning, people may try to beat the crowds and get to the shelves when they’re freshly restocked.

Fortunately with goods being in high demand, the shelves will probably be restocked throughout the day.
