Ovid woman accused of theft, use of debit card

An Ovid woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of a debit card at an Ovid business.


The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on December 14, 2021 at approximately 10:30am Investigators arrested Katrina M Szul, age 49 of Ovid NY. The arrest stems from an investigation into a Grand Larceny that occurred on September 22, 2021 at a local business in the Town of Ovid. Szul is alleged to have stolen the debit card of a female victim and subsequently used the stolen debit card at various locations within Seneca County and surrounding counties.

As a result of the investigation Szul was charged with Grand Larceny 4th, a Class E Felony, and Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor. Szul was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at the Ovid Town Court on January 17, 2022 to answer the charges.
