A new round of stimulus checks is being sent to thousands of eligible Americans, this time to residents in St. Louis.
These payments are part of the city’s direct cash program and are worth $500 each.
Residents that suffered negatively due to the pandemic and are in need of financial assistance could be eligible.

To qualify you must be a resident of St. Louis for one year and be at or below 80% of the area median income.
For a household of one, that’s $47,550. A household of four is $67,900, and a household of eight is $89,650.
You need to provide ID, proof of earnings and two additional documents.

Additional documents include:
- bank statements
- tax return statements
- leases
- vehicle registration
It’s predicted that around 9,300 residents will qualify.
If you think you may be eligible, you can apply through the city’s website.
The application is expected to open on Dec. 18.

If approved, residents can choose to be paid through the mail or their phone. Further direction on that will be given at a later date.
Other states and cities are working to help their impacted residents as well.
Maryland is working to get the returned $500 stimulus payments out to their rightful owners.
California is sending another round of Golden State Stimulus checks.
