After New York State Attorney General Letitia James announced her campaign for governor, it officially put her in a race against current Governor Kathy Hochul.
Hochul stated that they will continue to have a cordial relationship even as they compete for the position in 2022.
Hochul appears to be taking a more peaceful approach to handling the race, unlike former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams filed the paperwork to run, and both New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Representative Tom Suozzi are considering running.
One thing Hochul has made clear is her every intention of working with James at serving the Democrats of New York while keeping it professional.
