Public Advocate Jumaane Williams ran for lieutenant governor in 2018 against current Governor Kathy Hochul and lost.
Now he may be running against her next year for Governor of New York.
He’s formed an exploratory committee but plans to make his final decision in the coming weeks.
Hochul is already seeking endorsements to lock into place, but some Democrats are waiting to see who else may run, like Attorney General Letitia James.
While James, Williams, and even New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio have expressed interest in running, nobody has officially declared yet.
