A Clyde man is suing Wayne County again.
“I just want all this corruption to stop,” Richie Stokes told the Finger Lakes Times. “I want them to leave me alone and let me live my life with my five children.”
Stokes is representing himself, and filed the lawsuit in federal court on October 26. He alleges his civil rights were violated during an arrest in August 2020.
The Wayne County District Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case. According to court documents, Stokes also claims he was harassed repeatedly by sheriff’s deputies over the years.
Named defendants in the suit are Deputy Thomas D’Amato, Deputy Scribner, several other unnamed deputies, as well as the District Attorney’s office.
Officials have not commented. Stokes is seeking a jury trial or at least $10 million in damages.
