Nov. 15 is the next major date for the Child Tax Credit as parents wait for the fifth payment.
On Nov. 1 a new feature was released by the IRS where families can update their income with the Child Tax Credit Update Portal.
The update will allow the IRS to adjust anything necessary for payments in Nov. and Dec.
If your monthly payments are lower than the maximum but you lost your job or have less income, this could qualify you for more money.
By reporting these changes now instead of on taxes next year, you can get more money these last two payments.
If changes can’t be updated by tonight, updating them by Nov. 29 will allow for an adjustment on December’s payment.
