Deadline to sign up or opt out for Child Tax Credits ends tomorrow, Nov. 1

Taxpayers have one last chance at grabbing the two last child tax credit payments tomorrow, Monday Nov. 1.

The next payments are due to taxpayers on Nov. 15 and Dec. 15.

The rest of the child tax credit cash will arrive next tax season in 2022.

If you have not been participating in the program, you have one last chance to grab the last two payments before you need to wait until next year.

This also means anyone that wants to opt out for any reason, like owing money come tax time, has until tomorrow to do so.

Some families have seen an increase in income this year as well that may show up on their income taxes next year, which could make them owe as well.

To opt out, use the IRS portal online and navigate to Manage Payments. There, there will be directions to follow on how to opt out.

After unenrolling you may not reenroll.

If married filing jointly, both spouses need to opt out separately.
