One expert believes up to 90% of people will be immune to COVID-19 in some way following the Delta wave

Dr. Scott Gottlieb believes that 90% of Americans will be, to some level, immune to COVID-19 after the Delta wave finally ends.

Gottlieb is the former FDA commissioner and explained that reaching that level of infection is important for immunity even if the virus never fully disappears.

He believes when the wave passes, the population will have reached 85-90% of immunity due to vaccination, infection, or even both.

He believes once this happens it will no longer be able to spread the way that it has.

He also predicted infection rates to decrease greatly around Thanksgiving.
