A majority of the Geneva High School Varsity Football team has been placed under mandatory quarantine due to a possible COVID-19 exposure.
As result, Saturday’s football game against Bishop Kearney has been canceled.
The district made the announcement on Wednesday after it was determined that the team wouldn’t have enough players eligible for the game.
“We are disappointed in the interruption of our season, but the health, wellness, and safety of our athletes takes precedence. We are looking forward to a full return to the season in the coming weeks,” Director of Strategic Initiatives and Athletics Tricia Budgar said.
