Anxiety for kids about a new school year is normal, but what can help the added anxiety from the pandemic?

While anxiety at the start of school is normal for some, the added stress of the pandemic can make it unimaginable.

Heidi Knapp, the school-based advocate for Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes, says there is a general sense of fatigue but students are used to the “new normal.”

Knapp says that family’s creating a morning routine and making it positive can help students feel more at ease in school.
