Non-profits team together to help create a fund for families impacted by the flooding in Steuben County

United Way of the Southern Tier and the Corning Incorporated Foundation have created a fund for victims of the flooding in Steuben County worth $75,000.

The fund is for families that were deeply impacted in Tuscarora, Woodhull, Jasper, Troupsburg, Canisteo, Greenwood, and West Union.

The funding is to fill the gaps where other resources do not exist or aren’t immediately available.

Families and people impacted can apply through an agency for funding. Agencies include American Red Cross, Arbor Housing & Development, Catholic Charities of Steuben & Livingston, and Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc.

Donations can be sent to United Way of the Southern Tier, P.O. Box 284, Elmira, NY 14902. Checks can be made payable to “UWST Steuben County FRF.”

All donations will go toward the Steuben County Flood Response Fund and nothing will be kept for administrative costs.
