As the new school year approaches, many parents, teachers and students are still trying to figure out what exactly is supposed to happen regarding Covid-19.
Last year, the state’s Health Department has guidelines sent by July 13.
District leaders say they can’t send anything to families without these guidelines in place for this year.
Cuomo called on districts to mandate vaccines and testing for teachers if the district was in the red or yellow zone, but no district has done that.
Ultimately, the school districts are waiting for the New York State Department of Health to tell them what to do.
The Department of Health has stated with the Delta variant being so unknown, they aren’t ready to release guidance yet.
