Misreads in the western region of New York for the electronic tolling system have caused E-ZPass to overcharge up to 59,000 drivers.
In April it happened at Exit 55 where the old Lackwanna toll booths were located.
The Thruway Authority said it was an isolated incident and drivers had their accounts credited.
Drivers are asked to contact E-ZPass with issues by called their customer service center at 1-800-333-8655, filling out the form on the Thruway Authority website to have a representative contact them, emailing [email protected], or reaching out to the Thruway Authority through Facebook or Twitter.
