Ontario County sees 21 new cases of Covid-19 in children

Ontario County reported 48 new cases of Covid-19 in the last week, and children under 18 accounted for 21 of them.

According to Mary Beer, Health Director for Ontario County, the cases are showing up in day care, summer school, religious programs, at home and in the community.

Beer says months ago days would go by without any new cases, and now with gatherings and people choosing not to get vaccinated, it’s spreading again.

The best thing parents can do for children who are too young to be vaccinated is get the vaccine themselves and stay vigilant about mask wearing.
