Riley Israel, a Boy Scout in Troop 96 of Palmyra, chose to clear hiking trails for his Eagle Project.
Israel with a team of 25 volunteers cleared two trails in Bullis Park in Macedon during 300 hours of community service.
The green loop in .2 miles and the white loop is .15 miles. The green loop starts behind the concession stand and connects to the white trail in the woods, which ends by the soccer and lacrosse fields.
They installed trailhead signs, maps, and stairs.
Israel chose this project as his Eagle Project in order to benefit his local hometown and presented it to the Macedon Town Board. The board approved the project along with matching any amount of money he raised for the project.
Israel hopes this project will award him the Eagle Scout ranking this summer.
