Driver charged with aggravated DWI after being airlifted from Hector crash

The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office has provided an update on the one-vehicle crash that happened on State Route 414 on May 31.

On Tuesday, Patrick Ward, 58, of Hector was ticketed for driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, and driving without a seatbelt.

Deputies said at the time of the crash that the driver, now identified as Ward, was the only occupant of the vehicle- and was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

His vehicle left the roadway and rolled over before coming to rest.

The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Burdett Fire Department, Schuyler Ambulance, New York State Police, and Life Net.

The charges will be answered at a later date in Hector Town Court.
