On Monday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that there would be no mask mandate for vaccinated New Yorkers effective Wednesday.
He said the state will adopt Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance regaridng masks and social distancing.
Effective Wednesday, NYS will adopt the CDC's new mask & social distancing guidance for vaccinated people.
Unvaccinated people should continue to wear a mask.
Masks will still be required on public transit, in schools & some communal settings. Private venues may require masks.

The governor said that private venues can continue to require masks if they choose.
Meanwhile, unvaccinated New Yorkers are encouraged to continue wearing a mask.
He announced a number of other changes to restrictions previously set in place.
