Adams backs Cuomo in surprise mayoral twist

Two days before early voting, Mayor Eric Adams officially endorsed Andrew Cuomo for mayor, reversing his earlier criticism, according to Spectrum News.

Adams dropped out of the race last month after polling behind Cuomo and Zohran Mamdani. At a Harlem press conference Thursday, he said uniting against Mamdani — whom he called a “socialist and the communist” — mattered more than personal ambition.

Cuomo praised the endorsement as a move to protect the city. Mamdani dismissed it as proof Cuomo is running to extend Adams’ term. Curtis Sliwa called both men corrupt.
