The first person in New York State has been vaccinated. An ICU nurse from the New York City-area was the first person to receive the vaccine. It was administered in a live-streamed event that Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office held at 9:15 a.m.
“Vaccine doesn’t work if it’s in the bottle,” Governor Cuomo said. “We want to get it deployed, and we want to get it deployed quickly.”
The first round of COVID-19 vaccine has been on the move since Sunday. It’s being distributed by FedEx and UPS to regional facilities, where high risk frontline workers and those in nursing homes would be the first to receive it.
