Could Governor Andrew Cuomo be the next U.S. Attorney General?
There are other contenders like outgoing Alabama Sen. Doug Jones, federal appeals court judge Merrick Garland and former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates. Any of these four individuals could serve as next AG under President-elect Joe Biden.
But Governor Cuomo has said repeatedly that he’s not interested in a cabinet post at this point in his life or career. The three-time governor has little to prove politically, and many say wouldn’t be interested in being involved in a tumultuous Senate approval process.
The Associated Press originally reported the possibility that Biden was considering Cuomo for the post.
