Rochester Institute of Technology junior forward Will Calverley (Scarborough, Ontario) had a goal and an assist, but it was visiting Long Island University earning a 4-3 victory, Friday, at the Polisseni Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Calverley scored on his own rebound from close range to open the scoring with 7:14 left in the first period.
- Freshman forward Cody Laskosky (New Norway, Alberta) caused a turnover on the forecheck during a Shark power-play opportunity and scored a short-handed goal to make it a 2-0 Tiger lead with 16:42 left in the second.
- LIU scored the next four goals, including three unanswered in the second period, to build a 4-2 lead early in the third period.
- Senior forward Zack Bross scored on a clean wrist shot in the middle of the slot with 15:13 on the second-period clock. Freshman forward Gustav Miller put back his own rebound with 10:24 on the clock before senior defeneseman Mitch Meek put the Shark on top with a wrist shot from the top of the zone with 6:47 left in the period.
