Police ask for public’s help after pedestrian struck by fleeing vehicle in Tompkins

Police are asking for the public’s assistance with a crash that happened in the area of Albany and State streets in Ithaca over the weekend – where a pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle.

It happened Friday night around 10:45 p.m. when a vehicle struck a pedestrian – causing them to roll onto the hood of the vehicle, before landing on the ground.


An unknown bystander helped the pedestrian from the street and assisted in getting them to their nearby residence at which point 911 was called.

The victim was transported to a regional trauma center due to their injuries.

Police ask anyone who might have witnessed the crash to call 607-272-3245.
