Sheriff Brian Schenck has provided an update on a crash that shut down part of Turnpike and Blanchard roads on Wednesday.
A 1996 Dodge van operated by Kathryn F Lawler, 65, of Port Byron was traveling north on Blanchard Road in the Town of Aurelius when it failed to stop at the stop sign at Turnpike Road, striking a 2016 Hyundai heading east.
Sheriff Schenck says she was transported to Upstate Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A passenger in the van, identified as Victoria Wilson, 55, of Port Byron was transported to Auburn Community Hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the operator of the other vehicle, 22-year-old Jordan Novak, of Cicero was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Sheriff Schenck says the investigation is still open.
