NYSPHSAA to release guidance for fall high school sports on Friday

The COVID-19 task force assembled by the High School Athletic Association is meeting Monday to discuss the fate of fall sports.

The NYSPHSAA expects to have that answer by the end of the week and will send out guidance to schools statewide on Friday.

Last week, the organization said it was still looking into the number of required practices students need before playing games and the number of games allowed during the season.

While Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced all sports can start practicing starting Sept. 21, only low-contact, low-risk sports like soccer, tennis and swimming can compete.
