Letchworth State Park is usually the host of the most serene hiking trails and views in the entire state, however this past Saturday it was taken over by the Section V Cross Country Championships. Partaking in the Class C girls competition, Waterloo was ready for the task. The course for the championship based around the Highbanks Recreation area as well as a section of the course running along side the Hogsback section of the Genesee River. The Waterloo team features an unique blend of youth and experience on the team, with a combined three juniors and seniors, and four combined eighth and ninth graders representing the school in sectionals.
Good luck to our XC teams today!

Class C girls started the day off second of the groups, going off at 9:45 am, and while no frost greeted the runners like most mornings last week, temperatures still hung around 40 degrees. Perhaps no the ideal running weather, it was little hindrance. With all Waterloo runners finishing in the top half of the field of 79 total runners. Eighth grader Addison Bree led the way for Waterloo, placing third overall in the championship race at a time of 20:45.8, senior teammate Chance Rice Porter placed fourth with a time of 21:30.7. Junior Natalie Disanto was the third Waterloo runner across the line with a time of 22:52.8, good for twelfth overall. With the overall times of the seven total representatives, Waterloo secured the Class C title in girls cross country in Section V.
