The girls cross country team from Waterloo was in Chenango Forks at Chenango Valley State Park for the Class C state championship Saturday morning. For the Section V back-to-back champions, the outcome wasn’t the same as last weekend, however there were strong showings from the team. Eighth grader Addison Bree brought home a top 20 finish with a time of 20:25.7, which led the team. Senior Chance Rice-Porter followed with a time of 22:16.9, and eighth grader Maci Mueller came in with a time of 24:19.8. Waterloo will look to continue its success next season, with the young squad looking to return most of its roster.
