Mark Trotta’s single gives Geneva Snow Cats extra-inning win

Mark Trotta (College of William and Mary) singled in Branden Myers (St. Bonaventure University) in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Snow Cats a walk-off win. Trotta accounted for his team’s only two hits of the day. David Bermudez (Rider University) notched the other RBI when Gil Merod (Ithaca College) scored. Bermudez, Merod and Matt Smith (Ithaca College) all drew two walks.

A.J. Gartland (Alfred State College) struck out seven in six shutout innings. The reigning ICBL Pitcher of the Week has a 0.41 earned run average over 17 innings this season. Rojo Prarie (College of William and Mary) had four strikeouts over two innings of relief to pick up the win.

For the Cardinals, the pitching trio of Joseph Alphonse, Andrew Treviso (Alfred State College) and Jake Wamser (Tompkins County Community College) combined for one run allowed. Alphonse and Treviso pitched three frames apiece with the former tallying four strikeouts and the latter getting three. Wamser walked two in his lone inning but escaped unscathed. Drew Bailey (Mercyhurst University) had two of the team’s three hits and scored their only run. Tim McClare (Finger Lakes Community College) notched the other hit.
