Police: Canandaigua resident accused of violating court order, victim says dog attacked them

The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of a 37-year-old resident following a disturbance on Bristol Street.

Police say Leslie Smith, 37, of Canandaigua was found to have engaged in a physical altercation with a person who was protected by a court order.

The person involved had an active ‘stay away’ order of protection. During the altercation, Smith’s Dog allegedly attacked the victim.

Smith was charged with first-degree criminal contempt. The charge will be answered at a later date.
