Bars and restaurants found to be in violation of New York’s reopening parameters could risk immediate loss of their liquor license, according to Governor Andrew Cuomo.
He announced two new executive orders on Thursday, of which would allow for liquor licenses to be immediately revoked from businesses in the event of violating reopening guidelines.
The other would make the business responsible for sidewalk and outdoor areas immediately outside their establishments.
“The state cannot do enforcement of these local issues all across the state,” Cuomo said in his daily briefing Thursday. “I would, but we don’t have enough people…we need the local governments to do their part.”
Ever since the pandemic began, many businesses, including bars, have had their doors closed for an indefinite period of time. This has had a huge impact on DUI’s across the country.
