Texas woman leads authorities on chase through Ontario, Seneca, and Cayuga counties

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says a Texas woman led authorities on a four-county pursuit along the New York State Thruway after an attempted traffic stop during the early-morning hours.

Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on State Route 21 in the town of Manchester around 3:30 a.m. That vehicle had a broken windshield, and did not use a turn signal, which was what made deputies attempt to stop the vehicle.

The operator, identified as 54-year-old Hailene Hale, of Texas had an active warrant out of Texas for manufacturing and distributing methamphetamines.

The pursuit made didn’t end until spike strips were laid down across the Thruway in the town of Elbridge.

The chase the started in Ontario County, moved through Seneca, Cayuga, and Onondaga before coming to a conclusion.

Hale was taken into custody and will be arraigned on a number of charges – including unlawfully fleeing a police officer and those related to being a fugitive from justice.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reported no injuries as result of the pursuit or incident.
