The updated provisions aim to extend the NBRC’s mandate, set to expire on September 30, enhancing its capacity to support job creation in rural areas through improved infrastructure, housing, and essential community services. These enhancements include support for rural housing projects, infrastructure resilience, and health, nutrition, and childcare initiatives.

Senator Gillibrand emphasized the importance of these updates, stating they would modernize the NBRC’s programs to better meet community needs. She is actively pushing for the reauthorization of the NBRC before the end of September to ensure continued support for economic development across Upstate New York.
