The trial of Wayne Ellison Jr. and Christopher Kesterson, accused of the murder of former local resident William Waugh, begins in Seneca County Court today following multiple delays.
The case, which involves charges of murder and weapon possession, relates to the September 30, 2022, incident where Waugh, a Texas resident visiting for a wedding, was fatally shot on a porch in Waterloo.
Jury selection begins today, with Special Prosecutor Dave Mashewske telling the Finger Lakes Times it could extend into Tuesday and possibly longer.
The trial had previously faced postponements, including a mistrial declared last December due to a procedural error during jury selection.
