Auburn City School District Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo is back in Albany, hoping to help secure additional funding for schools across the state.
“It does get frustrating,” he told Finger Lakes News Radio. “They know there’s an issue. It’s just how much can they push the governor,” he continued, pointing to the challenges associated with finding equitable funding model support in Albany.
He credited the school board for making smart, difficult decisions. But Pirozzolo doesn’t think districts should have to operate that way.
A couple weeks ago Auburn School Board Vice President Joe Sheppard and Board Member Ian Phillips appeared on Inside the FLX to talk about funding, and how the funding challenge resulted in more than 80 cuts over several years.
