It was a very busy night across the Wayne-Finger Lakes boys and girls basketball leagues on Friday. There were a total of 19 games, 12 boys games and 7 girls games.
In Geneva, the Wayne eagles led by a pair of sophomore guards stunned the Panthers in overtime.
One of the best games of the night featured the Victor Blue Devils and the Fairport Red Raiders. This was a back and forth game from the start. With 36.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Blue Devils were ahead 38-37. The Red Raiders would end up tying the game at 38 after a free throw to send the game into overtime. In overtime, Fairport’s offense disappeared. They scored just five points and Victor ended up with a 7-point road win.
On the girls side, the Red Creek Rams took on the Williamson Marauders. Isabella Wilbur, a junior for Red Creek, put on a show. She recorded a 34-point double-double to lead the Rams over the Marauders.
Cara Walker led Midlakes to a comeback win over Penn Yan with 31 points and 18 rebounds.
